Mara1One Yachting
I work for Mara1One Yachting as skipper and co-skipper. I have crossed the Atlantic twice on the sailing yacht FRIENDSHIP – a Lagoon 500.
The first time was in January 2022, when the owner couple Marion and Rainer Ebert sailed from Gran Canaria to St Lucia as part of the ARC. As co-skipper, I supported Rainer in all aspects of the ship management. I also wrote our daily blog with short reports about our crossing. This blog was honoured as the best international blog at the ARC awards ceremony.
The second Atlantic crossing took us from St Martin via the Azores back to Europe. Here I also supported Rainer as co-skipper and was significantly responsible for the provisions, among other things.
Under the brand Mara1One Yachting Marion and Rainer Ebert offer exclusive sailing trips in the Mediterranean and the Caribbean. They also offer training cruises, skipper training and crewed charters on board their SY FRIENDSHIP.
The Ocean Collective
I am delighted to be part of this special project and team. With The Ocean Collective we sail exciting one-way routes, such as the “Arctic Explorer” from Bodø to Tromsø on a top-equipped performance yacht. In addition to founder and yachtmaster instructor Jonas Solbrig, there is always a co-skipper on board who is also a yachtmaster and experienced instructor.
The aim of the training cruises is to raise participants to the level of Yachtmaster Offshore without the pressure of an exam.
Driven by Nature
I will be working as a instructor for Driven by Nature from spring 2024. The RYA Training Centre, founded by George Jansen and Ellen Sander, has its headquarters in Amsterdam. The training includes all RYA courses from Competent Crew to Dayskipper and Yachtmaster Offshore. As a trained shorebased instructor, George also offers theory courses and seminars such as RYA First Aid.
The training cruises start either from the Dutch home port of Medemblik or from Cherbourg in France. Sailing in tidal waters is guaranteed. George and Ellen offer their popular adventure trips in various sailing areas around the world, such as the Canary Islands, the Swedish archipelago and the Mediterranean.
MCO Sailing
During my Yachtmaster Offshore training, Clemens Stecher from MCO Sailing encouraged me to do the Cruising Instructor course straight afterwards. Said and done. So it is all the less surprising that I became part of the MCO team a short time later. In November and December 2023 I taught “Ladies Only” tidal training in the Solent from Port Hamble Marina.
SailSquad
I have been working as a cruising instructor for the British sailing school SailSquad since summer 2023. Starting from Port Hamble Marina, I teach sailing students in the Solent on Sara and Martin Andrews’ Oceanis 37s. I teach within the British syllabus at Competent Crew and Day Skipper level.
